Pythagoras, born in 570 BC, is known for many things - he first postulated the spherical nature of earth, first discovered Venus, was the founder of an entire belief system of mathematical genius, and was a key influence on Plato and Aristotle…. Pythagoras was the first person to call himself a philosopher - from the Greek "Philo" meaning "Love" and the "Sophos" meaning "Wisdom."
