From the Artist: "The inspiration for this painting actually came from another painting I did, "Fiery Farewell", which won the 2007 Remington Award from the Prix de West Show at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. I liked the composition and feel of that painting so much, I thought I'd try a horizontal painting with a similar feel. In some ways, I like this painting even better than the award winner."
